What a typical day look like for you at integratedliving?
8:00 AM – Coffee in hand, I’m ready to start my shift. Just as I’m heading out, plans change— Mr. Smith cancels, and I’m quickly reassigned to Mrs. Jones’ for a 1.5-hour Domestic assistance shift. In this role, flexibility is part of what makes the day flow.
9:00 AM – I arrive at Mrs. Jones’ home and review the task list: bed making, vacuuming, mopping, ironing, cooking, and cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. I greet her warmly and ask, “Would you like a hot drink to start the day?” I confirm where she’d like to start and how she’d like it done, Then it’s straight into action—efficient, focused, and ready to tackle every task.
10:30 AM – Her home is sparkling, and her appreciative smile reminds me why I love this work. I hop back in the car on to the next clients! Two more domestic assistance shifts follow—each one a mix of cleaning, cooking, and conversation. A fresh and neat home isn’t just nice to look at, it’s a simple way to supporting older Australians to continue living independently.
Final Stop: After two DA shifts, it’s nearly 3 PM, and I’m off to my final mission: taking Mr. Brouno grocery shopping. He’s got a list, I’ve got the trolley, and together we’re unstoppable. We hunt for specials, swap favourite recipes, and share a few laughs (he’s got some great dad jokes).
4:30 PM – Groceries? Check. Laughs? Check. Mr. Kent is home, fridge stocked, and I help carry everything in. We say our goodbyes, and just like that, four clients are smiling—and that makes it all worth it.
I’ve added my notes to the system after each visit, the mobile apps make it easy, so it’s a clear run for me to make my way home!
